Gymnast's Corner ASU Barrett Summer Scholar
We've always known that our gymnasts are a multi-talented, intelligent and special group of girls. Now we're thrilled to be able to share their accomplishments with you!
2009 Regional/Western Qualifiers

For probably the first time in the history of the Prescott area, multiple gymnasts from a single club (Ours!) qualified to Regional Championships. They are our Level 8 gymnasts - Delaney Stewart, Chelsea Bigelow, Carly Hepler - and our Level 9 gymnast - Kiersten Graber. All of our 1st year Level 8 gymnasts were only 12! Fourteen year old Kiersten achieved 5th place All-Around in her age division at Regionals, which qualified her to compete at the 2009 Level 9 Western Championships in Oklahoma! Only the top 6 girls in each age division qualify. We can't wait to see what they have in store for us as Levels 9 and 10 in the 2009-2010 season!
Junior Beauty Queen

Some of our gymnasts are just born to perform! Talented Kela Hedtke, one of our Level 4/5 gymnasts is a perfect example. She recently competed in the 2009 Tri State Beauty Pageant and brought home the Junior Miss Yavapai County crown! No makeup or swimsuits in this pageant. Judges were looking for natural beauty, of which Kela definitely has plenty! We're not surprised that she won and are all very proud of her.
No summer break for this girl! As if her rigorous school schedule of advanced classes and gymnastic's training aren't enough, Kirsten Van Horne is attending the challenging ASU Barrett Summer Scholars program again. To be accepted, 7th, 8th and 9th grade students must score above the 97th percentile on a state board approved test for identification of gifted students. Though she's living on campus Mon.-Fri., attending difficult academic courses and swamped with weekend homework, Kirsten's somehow managing to still smile as she fits in intensive Level 8 training on Sat. and Sun.!

The long awaited pit construction is finally starting!!! Our much needed L-shaped pit is going to be right where the trampoline is currently located. Here is a before picture.
Hopefully this project will move quickly. Thanks for your continued support and patience. It will be worth the wait!
